  1. What is your official job title?

Emergency Room Technician

  1. How long have you worked here?

A little over 7 years

  1. Please describe your typical day and responsibilities.

I work within the emergency department and perform multiple tasks from keeping the department stocked, performing blood draws, EKGs, assisting with other medical professionals, patient safety and tasks and much more. It seems us ED techs do a little bit of everything.

  1. Why did you choose to come to WDH?

I have lived in the area and been to the hospital and its satellite facilities. While having multiple operations, hospital stays and family members within the hospital, I’ve always seen the great facility, employees and amazing care that was provided.

  1. What do you enjoy most about working here?

I really enjoy coming into work with the amazing group of co-workers I get the privilege to stand beside daily at work. They are a family to me, you spend 12 hours multiple times a week with these people, develop bonds with them as you see them as much if not more than your own family.

  1. How would you describe your work experience at WDH?

I think that WDH and the people I have met here have given me a great foundation to continue onto my ultimate goal of becoming a physician assistant.

  1. What would you say to someone who is considering applying to work here?

What are you waiting for? I have been to and worked at some hospitals within this area and this is definitely one of the best organizations.

  1. What is your favorite part of your job?

The people I work with, and when we walk into a room, we can just all do our tasks without even talking, we just know what we need to do to create the best outcome for the patient.

Bonus Questions

What did you want to be when you grew up?

I knew I wanted to be a medical provider but didn't know anything more than that. I am currently finishing my first semester of a Master’s Physician Assistant program.

Are you a morning or night person?

Definitely a night person. This is why I am a mid-shifter in the emergency department. Also when I do the last minute “cramming” before the next day's exams. Don't talk to me before I have had a cup of coffee.

What was your first job?

I was a lifeguard at The Works health club in Somersworth when I was 16.

Who is your hero?

My father is my hero. He was the best guy who knew everyone and everyone knew him. I think that is all that needs to be said, it shows how liked/personable he was to people.
