Alexandra Filippakis, D.O., director of the MS Center at Wentworth-Douglass, has been named a Partner in MS Care by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Recipients of this distinction go through a vetting process so that they can be more easily found by patients. To be considered, candidates must have at least two years of clinical experience, practice evidence-based care and at least 20 percent of their patients are diagnosed with MS and/or other neurologic, chronic illnesses, among other criteria.
Additionally, Dr. Filippakis has been chosen to serve on the National MS Society New England Chapter Provider Council this upcoming year. The committee seeks to identify care gaps in the region and, in turn, create projects to address those gaps. Dr. Filippakis will work on promoting rehabilitation and wellness in our MS patients, with a focus on community education.
Dr. Filippakis is a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers, and the American Academy of Neurology. She specializes in and is passionate about helping patients with multiple sclerosis navigate their comprehensive care.
