The Doorway Opens to Help Address Opioid Crisis

Wentworth-Douglass is pleased to be working with the state of New Hampshire to combat the opioid crisis. The Doorway, operated by Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, opened on January 3 to help connect people with the right treatment programs and community-based support to combat their disease.

The Doorway, operated by Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, is one of a network of nine regional hubs located throughout the state to provide clear points of entry for any NH resident seeking treatment for a substance use disorder.

Patients can reach The Doorway network 24-hours a day, seven days a week, by calling 211.

WDH's Doorway is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in a newly renovated location across the street from the hospital at 798 Central Avenue.

Services offered at The Doorway include:

  • Screening and comprehensive assessments
  • Evaluations for substance use and mental health services
  • Referrals for treatment and other health and social service needs, including outpatient and inpatient treatment, peer support services, mental health services, housing, food banks, etc.
  • Care coordination

To learn more or to access immediate help and support, call 211.
