WDH hosts international surgeons to observe innovative knee replacement

DOVER, NH - Four surgeons from Spain, Suriname, and Italy visited Wentworth-Douglass Hospital on Wednesday to observe orthopedic surgeon Dr. David Thut perform total knee replacements using the Conformis Total Knee. Dr. Thut is among an elite group of surgeons who Conformis uses to train other surgeons on its innovative system.

Conformis provides the only fully customized knee replacement system. Each knee implant is specifically designed and built for an individual patient, more accurately reproducing the person’s knee anatomy. Dr. Thut has completed over 500 Conformis total knee replacement procedures. 

Dr. Thut is a surgeon with Wentworth Health Partners Seacoast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Somersworth, NH. He has been a Conformis trainer since 2017. In addition to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, Dr. Thut also performs surgeries at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH.
