Wentworth-Douglass Nurses Honored by New Hampshire Magazine

DOVER, NH – Three Wentworth-Douglass Hospital nurses have been honored as recipients of New Hampshire Magazine’s inaugural Excellence in Nursing Awards. This award recognizes nurses in a variety of specialties who go above and beyond to heal, comfort, educate, and lead the state’s health care community in achieving comprehensive health care.

Kate Collopy, PhD, RN, Director of Nursing Education and Research, is the award recipient in the category of Nurse Educators and Nurse Researchers. Christine Dodier, BS, RN-BC, Professional Development Clinical Educator, is the award recipient for Ambulatory Care Nursing. Barbara Stuart, RN, CHPN, Palliative Care Coordinator, is the recipient for Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing.

As key members of any health care team, our nurses’ skills and contributions are crucial to providing excellent care to patients at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital.

“It is very exciting and gratifying to see their contributions in leadership recognized throughout our state. Needless to say, we are so fortunate they are part of this outstanding team,” says Sheila Woolley, RN, BSN, MPH, NEA-BC, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer.
Wentworth-Douglass has nearly 500 nurses on staff, and in 2016 the hospital achieved Magnet® recognition, the nation’s highest honor of excellence in nursing.

Collopy, Dodier and Stuart will be recognized with all the state’s honorees at an awards event on May 22, and will also be featured in the May 2018 issue of New Hampshire Magazine.
