25th Annual Charity Classic Raises a Record $182,000

The results have been tallied and we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for the 25th annual Wentworth-Douglass Charity Classic, presented by Tufts Health Freedom Plan.

This year, we hit record breaking achievements raising more than $182,000 for the Women and Children's Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. Since its inauguration in 1994, the Wentworth-Douglass Charity Classic has raised more than $2 million to support valuable care and services available to families on the Seacoast. Thanks to all our donors for their generous support to make this possible!

The Fund A Need Program was among our most notable accomplishments where the generosity of our patrons tallied $14,000 to purchase a new transport isolette (neonatal transporter) for the Women and Children's Center. Generous donors were moved to give after hearing from a grateful family and their care team about their birth experience. The transporter will help enhance the safety and quality of the care for babies who need an extra level of care after birth, while also allowing them to stay close to their mothers and families.

On behalf of our patients and their families, thank you bringing this new and improved technology to our Seacoast communityWe couldn't do this without your continued support.

“Raising funds to help the youngest patients in our community has been at the heart of Wentworth-Douglass’s golf tournament from the beginning,” says Dr. Paul Cass, Wentworth-Douglass’s Chief Medical Officer and member of the Golf Committee. “When I reflect back on all the years, all the golfers and sponsors who have come together to support our community, and all the lives we’ve been able to touch, I am truly moved.”

As a strong supporter of the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Charity Classic, we know we are helping the hospital make a difference in the lives of the families and communities it serves,” says Geraldine Vaughn, President of Tufts Health Freedom Plan. “Sponsoring this event allows a continued partnership with Wentworth-Douglass, and we are pleased to be part of the important work being done by this progressive hospital and leadership.”
