Wentworth-Douglass Foundation Unveils Emergency Response Fund Donor Wall

The Wentworth-Douglass Foundation recently unveiled a donor recognition wall to represent the outpouring of community support Wentworth-Douglass Hospital received in honor of our frontline heroes during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Wentworth-Douglass Foundation established the Emergency Response Fund in Spring 2020 to provide critical support for our staff who were working tirelessly to provide care for our Seacoast community during the height of COVID-19, a true public health emergency. More than $96,000 was raised to support investments in personal protective equipment, staff support, and more during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To ensure the health and safety of all, a small intimate ceremony was held with remarks from Hospital leadership, including Cristine More, CFRE, Chief Philanthropy Officer; Jeffrey Hughes, MPH, FACHE, Interim President & CEO; Sheila Woolley, RN, BSN, MPH, Chief Nursing Officer, and Jackie Eastwood, Chair, Foundation Board of Directors.

Interim President & CEO, Jeffrey Hughes, said “The community’s support of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital during this uncertain time is truly amazing. The installation of this donor recognition wall acknowledges and commemorates what we have been through over the past year and that as a team, pulled together to face and not only meet, but beat, the challenges presented by the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The Emergency Response Fund Donor recognition wall is located on the first floor of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (outside of Elevators 1 & 2). While visitor restrictions at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital continue, patients and staff are encouraged to read the inspiring notes and comments from community members.
