Dr. Robert Harrington is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He is highly specialized in total joint replacement surgery and arthroscopic (or minimally invasive) surgery.
Dr. Joseph Konopka specializes in hip and knee replacements, partial knee replacements, and revision hip and knee replacements. His practice focuses on direct anterior hip replacements, robotic-assisted surgeries, computer-navigated surgeries and patient specific knee implants. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Konopka completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopedics Residency Program. During his residency, he worked at several of the most highly ranked hospitals in the country, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital Boston.
Our surgeons work in close coordination with our specialized physician assistant, Denise Burnham, PA-C and a team of nurses and rehabilitation staff to help you achieve your goals.
Our practice also offers on-site X-ray services for your convenience.

We specialize in joint replacement surgery (hips and knees) using the latest techniques to get you back on your feet. You’ll have less pain and scarring - and a shorter recovery time - with our minimally-invasive surgical options.
Hip Replacements
Total hip replacement techniques include the minimally-invasive Direct Anterior Approach, as well as hip revisions for patients with implants that have failed.
Knee Replacements
Total Knee Replacements including the Conformis Knee, Stryker, and Smith & Nephew knee systems. We also offer partial knee replacements and knee revisions for patients with implants that have failed.
All of our joint replacement surgeries take place at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Joint Replacement Center with a team of highly-dedicated physicians, nurses, physical therapists and occupational therapists, who are all focused on getting you back to doing what you love to do. Everything is seamlessly coordinated with your best health in mind. You will have access to the hospital’s Surgical Optimization Center and Prehabilitation classes to help you prepare for a successful surgery and improved overall health.
