Vasectomies
Wentworth Health Partners Seacoast General Surgery
Our team is expert in performing conventional and minimally invasive vasectomies - minor surgical procedures used as a permanent form of male birth control or contraception to prevent pregnancy.
During the procedure, a surgeon cuts the tubes (or vas deferens) that deliver sperm from the testes to the seminal fluid or semen during intercourse.
Sterilization doesn’t occur immediately after the procedure, as sperm are stored in the body for a period of time. Although it’s possible to reverse a vasectomy, it should be considered permanent sterilization.
Sexual health also is unchanged by a vasectomy. Your testosterone levels will remain the same.
