Community Supporting Community

Thank you to the more than 500 donors to the Emergency Response Fund!

Thanks to our generous community, we raised $95,892 to support frontline heroes at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic. The community’s unwavering support of the Emergency Response Fund raised the spirits of our healthcare teams who continue to be there when we need them the most. Thank you!

Seacoast Superhero Challenge

A special thank you to D.F. Richard Energy, a longtime supporter of Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, for their generous $10,000 gift! Rick Card, CEO of D.F. Richard Energy and WDH Foundation Board Member, announced in April of 2020 that they would be our lead donor to the Seacoast Superhero Challenge, allowing us to successfully kick-off the social media campaign and launch our Emergency Response Fund initiative. We are incredibly grateful for their support!

Funds raised through the Emergency Response Fund helped to support

  • The purchase of necessary medical equipment to maximize our treatment capacity, including personal protective equipment.
  • WDH staff whose families experienced financial hardships due to unexpected furloughs, layoffs and other reductions.
  • The expansion of existing facilities to accommodate a surge in COVID-19 patients such as our Respiratory Illness Clinics and drive-thru COVID-19 testing for our community.
  • The purchase of essential tools and materials to ensure your care team remained healthy, resilient and ready to provide the best quality of care including Counseling, Occupational Health and Emotional Health Hotlines, plus Rest and Resiliency Support.

We are grateful for the outpouring of support we received! Visit our complete online photo gallery to view all the amazing ways that our community stepped up.
