Mass General’s Dr. Amy Bregar Joins Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Gynecology Oncology Program
Massachusetts General Hospital Gynecologic Oncologist Amy Bregar, MD, has joined Wentworth-Douglass Hospital to offer women on the Seacoast local access to specialized care for gynecologic cancers, including cervical, endometrial, ovarian, and uterine cancer.
Through Wentworth-Douglass’s affiliation with Mass General, Dr. Bregar will lead the Seacoast Cancer Center’s gynecology oncology program. She will work alongside Kathleen Quinn, RN, BSN, OCN, Gynecology Oncology Nurse Navigator, and the Seacoast Cancer Center’s team of medical and radiation oncologists, nurse practitioners, and oncology nurses to offer women comprehensive, state-of-the-art care here in Dover. Patients will also have direct access to additional resources in Boston, should they need it, as she also sees patients and performs surgeries at Mass General.
Dr. Bregar earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed residency training at Brown University’s Women and Infants Hospital. She completed a fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Mass General. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Bregar has a special interest in research aimed at improving the quality of life for women with gynecologic cancer, as well as the development of clinical trials to explore new and effective treatment options.
“Offering women the option to receive their care close to home is so important to their overall health and well-being,” says Dr. Bregar. “The Seacoast Cancer Center’s expertise and technology, and full array of supportive services, is especially equipped to offer women the most comprehensive, personalized and compassionate care in the region.”
Dr. Bregar and her husband live in Boston. She enjoys learning to cook and taking care of her new daughter, Abigail.
