Physiatry is the specialization of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Physiatrists are experts in non-surgical care of neuromuscular conditions, including neck and back pain, sports and work-related injuries, disability assessment and treatment, tendon, ligament and joint injuries, and neuromuscular problems, including nerve injuries, neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, brain injury, stroke, and many other non-surgical conditions.
