Understanding Your Visit Charges for the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Outpatient Center - Portsmouth. 

The Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Outpatient Center in Portsmouth offers the following mix of services:

  • Wentworth-Douglass Hospital outpatient services such as laboratory*, x-ray*, cardiac testing* and pulmonary function testing.*
  • Wentworth Health Partners (WHP) physician practices and services includuing WHP Prompt Care, WHP Primary Care, several WHP specialty practices and some testing, including EKG and holter monitors.

How Will I Be Billed?

Based on the services rendered, you will receive a bill from Wentworth-Douglass Hospital and/or Wentworth Health Partners for treatment that includes a charge for the level of care you received and/or any ancillary testing you had done at any of the services listed above.

Services indicated with an (*) above are billed as a department of the hospital and may have different co-pays, coinsurance or deductibles than physician practice services.

If you have an X-ray, you will also receive a bill from Seacoast Radiology Associates. X-ray interpretation is done by a radiologist. Seacoast Radiology Associates is the physician practice we work with to interpret reports.

If you had lab testing that needed to be sent offsite for additional testing, you will receive a bill from Seacoast Pathology, the service we use for additional testing needs.

Review Your Insurance Coverage

If you have health insurance, all services will be billed directly to your insurance company for payment first. Coverage for services at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Outpatient Center in Portsmouth varies by insurance plan. Depending on your insurance coverage, you may have out of pocket expenses such as a deductible, coinsurance or co-pay. We recommend that you review your insurance benefits or contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage and identify any out-of-pocket expenses you may incur. For those who do not have insurance, we offer a “self-pay” discount.
