Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Our Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment Center offers comprehensive hyperbaric care.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) can activate the body’s ability to repair itself, dramatically improving wound conditions where the healing process has stalled. This improves the benefits of certain antibiotics, activates white blood cells to fight infection and promotes the healing process in chronic wounds. HBO is a form of medical treatment that occurs inside of a hyperbaric chamber. The chamber is pressurized with 100% oxygen and pressurized to up to 2 and ½ times atmospheric pressure, the equivalent of diving to a depth of 49 ½ feet in the ocean.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is commonly used to treat the following conditions:
-
Radiation damage to soft tissue or bone (Radionecrosis)
-
Compromised skin grafts and surgical incisions
-
Chronic bone infections (Osteomyelitis)
-
Diabetic foot wounds

Frequently Asked Questions
Does insurance cover my hyperbaric oxygen therapy? HBO is a covered benefit with most insurance plans. You should obtain a referral from your physician if your insurance plan requires. You may inquire about financial assistance if needed.
How long are hyperbaric treatments? Each treatment takes approximately 90 minutes. You are generally treated once a day, 5 days per week, for a total of 30 to 60 treatments depending on the medical condition and response to therapy. You are always in direct communication and under constant visual supervision of our staff.
What can I do during my treatment? The body of our hyperbaric chamber is made of clear acrylic so you can comfortably view your favorite TV show or movie (DVD). You can also listen to books on CD to help pass the time of their treatment or you can even take a nap.
