About Dr. Blitzer
"I chose orthopedic surgery as a rewarding career allowing me to tangibly improve people’s lives by improving function and decreasing the pain they experience. Taking care of patients is a complex endeavor which is best done by understanding a patient's needs and working with a team to try to accomplish the patient’s goals. I particularly focus on arthroscopic techniques and the management of fractures. I enjoy teaching orthopedic surgeons in the developing world and have done this in Micronesia, Bhutan, Malawi, Mongolia, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Costa Rica. I spent time working with earthquake relief in Haiti and Nepal. I enjoy woodworking, travel and bicycling (particularly with my wife). I am proud of the fact that our practice has been working in this community for over 40 years, providing care in many specialty areas with highly trained surgeons who have been recognized nationally for their skill and care."
Dr. Charles Blitzer serves on the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons’ Board of Councilors and is past president of the New Hampshire Medical Society. He is an affiliate assistant professor in the Department of Kinesiology, School of Health and Human Services, at the University of New Hampshire, as well as an adjunct clinical faculty member in the physician assistant program at the University of New England in Maine. Dr. Blitzer is also a member of leading orthopedic associations.
