Wentworth-Douglass Hospital Laboratory Receives Accreditation
DOVER – Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Laboratory Services have been awarded two-year accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) based on results of a rigorous on-site inspection.
During the CAP accreditation process, which is designed to ensure the highest quality standard of care for all laboratory patients, inspectors examined the lab’s records, quality control procedures, equipment, staff qualifications, safety programs and overall management.
"We are pleased to again receive CAP accreditation as is reflects our commitment to providing accurate, quality testing to support the excellent patient care being offered throughout the Wentworth-Douglass system,” says Gint Taoras, Administrative Director of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
The goal of CAP’s Laboratory Accreditation Program is to improve patient safety by advancing the quality of pathology and laboratory services through education, standard setting, and ensuring laboratories meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
