About Wentworth-Douglass Hospital

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is a nationally recognized, not-for-profit charitable health care organization located in Dover, New Hampshire. We have served the surrounding communities with compassionate care and innovation since 1906.

Our staff includes 400 providers, more than 500 nurses, 3,500 employees, and 200 volunteers. All are dedicated to the health, safety and well-being of residents and visitors to coastal Southern New Hampshire and Southern Maine. Our facilities include our 178-bed Magnet^® Recognized hospital, several urgent care and walk-in care facilities, primary care and specialty care practices in the Wentworth Health Partners group, multiple testing centers, as well as The Works Health and Fitness Center and the Wentworth-Douglass Foundation.

In 2017, Wentworth-Douglass Hospital joined the Massachusetts General Hospital family and Mass General Brigham system. Wentworth-Douglass is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

Advanced Capabilities

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital offers advanced technologies including the latest in minimally invasive surgery, including the daVinci® surgical robot, the conforMIS knee replacement, and more. The Mass General Cancer Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital offers the most comprehensive cancer care on the New Hampshire seaboard, providing medical oncology, immunotherapy and radiation oncology treatment. The Hospital is certified as a Level III Adult and Pediatric Trauma center, so you can be assured your family will receive advanced care for life-threatening emergencies. 

Stellar Care

As a member of Mass General Brigham, our goal is to provide access to the best specialized care close to home. We currently benefit from joint clinical programs in stroke, trauma, gynecologic oncology, cancer genetics, cardiac care, neurology, clinical trials, and thoracic surgery, and we will continue to develop, grow and improve additional health care services to best serve the community. The Mass General for Children affiliation provides pediatric subspecialists onsite here in Dover.

The Garrison Wing, which opened in 2012 provides new, spacious, private patient rooms designed for a comfortable, family centered, healing environment.
